I've only been able to find an instruction to change the background to solid orange and that is supposed to make the font black, but it doesn't work for me.
Any ideas please? Thanks

EDIT: Realized you don't actually need this, but I'll leave it here for other people:

You can't directly change the font colour, but here's a workaround I use:

1. Right-click on Desktop, select "Customize".

2. In Background, select "Solid color" if not already selected.

3. In the color picker choose a color that is opposite enough that it produces the desired icon font colour (only white or black font are possible).

4. (Optional) Switch Background back to "Image" or "Slideshow", depending on preference. Font should remain.

EDIT: There are two kinds of "orange". The yellow/gold (top left) is actually the only background colour that produces black font.
