How do I change my CPU voltage?

I've heard that changing/lowering the voltage of the CPU can help with heat problems. Because I'm currently lacking in funds to afford an after-market cooler and because I've tried everything else that I can think of, can anyone tell me how to lower my CPU voltage?

CPU: AMD FX6300 6-core black
Mobo: ASUS M5A 78L-M LX

I'd also like to note that I wasn't having many heat issues until I tried to install more fans in my case. The case is too small, however, and the fans just blocked the vents. Plus, they didn't blow air very well.

Changing the voltage won't help much. A chip is at what voltage it is, because it needs at least that much to run.

You could try going into the BIOS and turn down the speed, but that's only a quick fix. You may have hit or moved the heatsink or something to cause the temps to go up. Also, just reversing the position of 1 fan can make a difference in air flow.

The thing is, after I took the fans out I changed the thermal paste and reapplied the heatsink pretty carefully. I also went back and did the paste again just to make sure there weren't any air bubbles. While idle, my comp stays at about 18-20C, however when I try to play a game like SWTOR, it jumps up to 62-68C. It used to only go up to 55-61C.
