How do I change my public IP adress?

Is there a way to do it that doesn't involve me calling my isp and asking for a new one? I have already unplugged it, let it sit overnight, then plugged it back in in the morning and the ip is the same, so that doesn't work. I've been searching around the internet but nothing seems to work for me 🙁
Any ideas?

Edit: I'm pretty sure that I have a static IP if that helps.

Since your IP address is issued by your ISP, your ISP is the only one who can change it.

You have 2 solutions:

1. Contact your current ISP and see what they say.
2. Change ISP's

You wouldn't happen to be trying to bypass an IP ban would you?

If, in the unlikely event you actually have and pay for a static IP address, you have to call them.
If, as is more likely you don't have a true static....you are at the mercy of whenever the DHCP server wants to change it.

The real question is....why do you feel the need to change it? What have you been doing?

I think I will give my isp a call and see if they will change it for me. Thanks for the help!

Well, a new modem or new router would surely do the trick. Even unplugging the modem for awhile could work.
