Question How do I change passwrd Ubuntu 14.04

Hello everybody
I cannot access my Ubuntu anymore.
I have done some research but unsuccessful because I cannot access my terminal.
I guess I will have to reinstall Ubuntu but first I would like to hear from you.
I went into User Account with the guest session and it appears that my administrative password is only 5 digits while I always used a much longer password.
I tried to unblock the window but unsuccessfully.
Can you help?
