Question How do I change the backlight on the Asus Vivobook keyboard?

I have model number F1704VAP-AS56. The keyboard is extremely difficult to see. I read that you can hold down the Fn key and then press F4 or F7 to increase the backlight but it doesn't do anything.

Edit: I didn't have to press the Fn key at all. Just F7. There are 3 levels of brightness. All the way up is a game changer.

It would depend on whether or not the keys are set for the Hotkey or Function key mode. F7 or Fn+F7 would appear to be the correct combination. Refer to pages 44 and 45 of the manual:

You have Vivobook 17 (2024 model). But for Vivobook 16, pressing only F7 suffices.

Other info i found, is that Fn + F7 should also work.

If still no dice, haul laptop to PC repair shop and pay for diagnostics.
