How do I change the color of the clock in the taskbar in Windows 10?

I am not talking about the digital clock that can be seen if the clock is clicked. I've changed the font type to bold but that didn't make much of a difference. My taskbar is transparent so darker backgrounds/websites make the clock illegible unless I hover over it. I would also like to change the color and size of the font. I think I may need to take a stroll through the registry. I know I can use a broad stroke and increase the size of everything through display settings. Looking for something more subtle and to the point.

HELP please :??:

Solution
I probably need to re-read it all because I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for. Maybe this is it, maybe not. I've increased the font size using the same software.

Here's another one, larger font with date removed (same software):

So I hope that everything is clear and visible now right?

I don't know how to change the color of the font, but I do know that if you right click on your desktop and click personalize, you can click on colors and have the option to check for accent colors to show on the start, taskbar and action center. It doesn't change the font color, but it allows you to make the taskbar whatever color you want it to be, so maybe you can find a color to where the contrast will make it easier to see.

That doesn't change the color of the whole taskbar though. Try it for yourself.

Actually it does. I did try it.

Here is a blue taskbar

And here is a red taskbar

Ohhhh I see it now. You have to toggle an option to enable that. The taskbar definitely looks cool when you change the colors of the whole thing. Thanks for the fact!

No it isn't. I want a transparent taskbar with a visible clock.
Taskbar.png
shows you the clock is not clear or that visible.

@ Bo Lee I've already applied that change.

Thanks for the help so far.

:heink: even though Tom's graphic is covering most of the clock.

On a sidenote(straight from Capt. Obvious), that eyeball to the left is a Start Button.

Okay. Were getting closer. That program doesn't help. It only changes the transparency type. I do however like the clear transparency. I thought about disabling a shell I was using. Okay. Where is it. I was using it no less than 3 hours ago. I changed something in taskbar. DOH!!!!! I changed the color.

Can you figure out how to make the clock bigger? Through display settings I could push that to 150% but I only want to change the clock size. That is one thing I know I haven't done.

I've been watching this thread for little while and experimenting with my test system on the side to see if I could get any good results.

Here's the problem, with the taskbar being transparent, it is obviously going to depend on what is behind the taskbar that determines whether or not the clock font is visible. If the background is dark, a white font would be great. If the background is a light Window, a black font would be better.

So I decided to look for a different solution, one where you can actually change the background color where the clock is, while leaving the rest of the taskbar transparent. I just did this on my test system using [T-Clock].

It's a problem sometimes encountered with MSI Afterburner's OSD. It melds with the background. But with size and a not so used color

it's visible. Of course that size will not happen. However, if I van make it bigger I think that will also help with visibility. You fix is similar to Atomic's. Remove the transparency under the clock and all is well. I have done that. That is not what I am looking for. Transparency is a must. As stubborn as it may be it isn't futile. Size matters.

Solution

You are definitely on the same page as me. I can't get Tclock to run. I was trying again and then I see you suggesting it and it's working.

Tclock and Tclock lite don't work with my version of 10. What am I doing wrong. Have tried all possible compatibility settings. Have tried as an admin.. What the bleep?

Hmm... no clue. My test system (where the screen shots are from) is the latest version of Win 10 Creators and all updates installed.

Maybe it's your security software. Normally I don't recommend disabling it, but view this page below first then you can decide if you want to temporarily disable your security software.. OR.. allow an exception with your security software.

Link that shows that's is a clean program (review the 4 lines at the top of the page): https://www.virustotal.com/en/url/dbd9cbc23941621bf0e524daefe3f14980cb48821ff2da1aca4de1c89640c74f/analysis/1501203263/
