I was reading a discussion. A guy said his gaming performance increased after updating his bios.

It is painful to play with 100 fps with a GTX 1050 ti 4gb ddr5. So now I'm currently updating the drivers and I'll see how it goes from here. Can you guys suggest other ways how my fps is degrading?

you go to your manufacturer web site download it, , look at instructions and follow them, most of the time you jump to bios and its is in the util section have the new bios on your c:\bios to find it easily with the menu.

many will state it is dangerous, I perform firmware and bios upgrades on computers, printers and various other devices I service in my daily work.
I only have had 1 single motherboard not recover after it was updated and it turned out that board was having "issues" before, and replacing the bios chip repair the system so it wasn't the bios upgrade process but the hardware that was at issue. Can you bricked your system if you incorrectly perform a firmware or Bios upgrade, of course. there is always a risk, and...

Updating the BIOS can be dangerous to your system. Unless the description of the BIOS update specifically states it resolves an issue you are experiencing, DO NOT attempt to update it. You could potentially damage your computer.

That said, when you power on your system, the current BIOS version should be listed during the Power On Self Test (POST). Once you know your current installed version, go to your motherboard manufacturer's support page and see if a newer version is available.

More often than not, the issue holding back gaming performance is background processes. If your drivers are up to date and the rest of your system is operating normally, if you have not getting the performance you're expecting (forget what you saw on YouTube; be reasonable here), then it's likely due to background processes/any other programs you have running.

easiest way to read your bios version is get Speccy, load it and click on motherboard it will list the number right day.
