I just added my second Sapphire r9 290 VaporX to my system. I have the AMD Catalyst 14.9 drivers already installed and working on the first r9 290 VaporX. I.m a noob when it comes to Win8.1 but i don't see any AMD Catalyst Control Suite. So mabe I need to install that but i'm not sure. I can't even find the control panel on Win 8.1 yet but i know it's there somwhere.. I have 2 5970's crossfired on a win 7 system and i have no problems navigating things there.. But my new system is Win8.1 pro and I'm still sorta lost using this operating system. I also have Trixx installed on the W8.1, but ihavent learned how to use it yet..Please Help......

P.S If I do have to install the AMD CC Suite will it make me reinstall my already installed and working catalyst 14.9 Catalyst all over again?

No, no. You didn't have to run Furmark to complete its stress test. All you needed to do is watch the graph for a few seconds. If it shows both GPUs are climbing in temps, CF is working.

Btw, if it is solved, pick one of the green links for the solution.
I don't envy you struggling with Win8. I know what you mean. Run Furmark's default benchmark. It will show both cards working.

And yes, you need to install the latest AMD driver so you have CCC. It should be present when you right-click on the desktop in the context-sensitive menu... if Win8 hasn't botched that up too.

You shouldn't need to reinstall the drivers for the second card, it will take a pc restart or 2 for the drivers to properlly install.
If CCC isn't showing up in the system tray or in the right click menu on the desktop then you will need to reinstall the drivers.
When testing or trying to run games using xfire you will need to use fullscreen, windowed or borderless will not enable xfire.

Sorry being a bit late with this reply. I tried Furmark but it looked like it would take a long time to complets. however, the temp leveled out at 71 degrees. I then tried GPUZ and it showed 2 Gpus and indicated that crossfire was enabled. So I guess crossfore is working? So for now iI can assume this tread has been SOLVED.
