Hello there, I've got a Acer KU-0420 keyboard.
It's a pretty good keyboard, but now my computer is showing its age, and I am thinking of building a better one soon.
The problem with my keyboard is that, it's good, but it has this tappity-tap-tap sound coming from it when I type(I have around 45-50 WPM of speed) and it drives my mom nuts. I wanna get a better, quieter, and nicer one for my next PC.
So what are the different technologies(dome switch, scissor switch, mechanical switch etc) and I've also seen some of those square keyed keyboards which I think are quieter and are advertised as spillproof.
So what does this stuff mean?
Also, are ps/2 keyboards still good? Most motherboards still come with a legacy ps/2 port and I might wanna save a usb slot.
EDIT: if there are keyboards optimized for typing, I'd like to know, typing is a skill I've developed myself for myself despite bitter opposition ( Sorry if it feels like exaggerating but it's true) and I'd like to exercise that skill
