Recently updated my CPU/GPU twice over. Noticing some funky performance. Is there a switch I'm not seeing on the MoBo? Do I pull something out? Resetting to defaults within Bios does not seem to do anything.

Thanks!

Easiest way to clear the CMOS if you can't find the jumper is to remove the on-board CMOS battery from the motherboard and wait 10 minutes before replacing it. It's the silver circular battery located just below the CPU socket on your particular board.

I'm not sure if this will help your performance at all, but that's another good way to clearing CMOS.

Unfortunately, pulling the battery did not revert my Bios settings back to factory settings. Any other thoughts/Ideas? I've recently switched both the CPU and GPU twice over and I am noticing some sort of strange lag/delay which should not be the case. I am running a skylake i7 6700k @ 4ghz on an Asus z170-ar, running 8x2 16GB ballistix @ 2400 with a GTX 980Ti

Thanks in advance!

Ok, next thing to try is shorting the CMOS jumper:

I can't display just this page for you, so here is a link to your motherboard's online manual (hosted by ASUS):

https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/1828/2290/9f/dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/Z170-AR/E10395_Z170-AR_UM_WEB.pdf

Look at page 31 of the PDF. It explains exactly where your CMOS jumpers are and the correct procedure for resetting CMOS RAM.

**Footnote: I know the above link is kind of ugly, if you prefer I've linked the Asus website's manual section for your mobo if you would prefer to open up the .pdf from there. Look for " Z170-AR User's manual (English)"
