I was wondering how to combine local disk c and d into one. I’ve tried the most common method of opening disk management, deleting disk d and extending c but it won’t let me extend. Also I’m not concerned about losing data since there is nothing on my pc.

Solution
People normally only combine volumes if they are both on the same physical drive, and the two volumes must be adjacent to each other otherwise it can't be done.

The "spanning" option with two separate physical drives is not worth even considering.
while you COULD create a spanned volume it WOULDN'T be recommended with that combination. Before drive 2 is used in a spanned volume drive 1 is filled up. Too much uneccessary wear and tear on your SSD for leveling if you don't have any of the drive free.
