How do I connect a non-raid HD to my current setup(raid0)?

Hey All,

I was having trouble connecting an additional 2TB drive to my current setup. I can see the third drive, but when I enter windows it doesn't let me do anything. I have a current RAID 0 with Windows 7 installed. Do I need to delete the raid array and reconfigure it with the additional drive? Also, because my board is in RAID mode, will this be able to take the additional drive?

Raid 0
- x2 80 gb intel drives

storage (non-raid)
-x1 2 TB spinning drive

Thanks,
Brandon

The fact that you already have a RAID0 array running your machine does NOT affect this situation. When you installed the new 2 TB unit in your machine, by default it is just a stand-alone HDD, and NOT connected to your RAID array.

The real "problem" is that ALL new empty HDD units need some preparation before Windows can understand and use them. There is built into Windows a utility called Disk Management where you can do this. Read WyomingKnott's sticky near the top of this forum here:

Pay special attention to his Step 5.
