How do I connect molex connectors to a PSU

I just got a new fan controller, and everything seemed easy enough until I got to the power. Sorry if this is a noobish question, but where and how do I plug in the 4 pin molex connector on the fan controller to the PSU? I've heard I need to get a connector to go on the power supply, but I've also heard that the molex connector can go straight onto the Power Supply. I don't want to mess around, because one mistake could be the end for my PSU or fan controller. So I thought I'd come to the forum.

Is your PC using a modular PSU or a hardwired one? Either way, the molex itself does NOT connect directly to the PSU itself. There should be the mating connector end on the PSU wiring somewhere if the PSU is hardwired, whereas modular PSUs should have a cable w/ multiple molex connectors on it that plugs into the PSU itself. You would then plug your fan controller into one of the connectors on this cable.
