How do I connect my laptop to someone else router

I am going t my daughters house and want to take my laptop with me. How do I hookup to her internet?

It will auto detect it, and tell you about it if it is a wireless connection, otherwise bring a cord.

If you use a cable, and there is no password protection on her router, you can just connect and log on.
If it is a wireless router, you need to find her network using whatever program you use on your computer, and select her wireless network to connect to.
If there is password protection, encryption, on her network, you need to know the password key and enter before you are connected.
Many variables depending on your computer setup as well as your daughter's router setup!
