How do i connect my monitor to my pc?

So i got a 15ft Gold 24+1 DVI Male to HDMI but it wont fit into my tower pc. im not really into these kinda things so i need someone to guide me when it comes to this so it would be great if you could just link me the kind of wire i need to connect my tower to my monitor my monitor has a white slot with screw holes a blue one next to it and two slots that look like they take usb or something im not really sure but i dont wanna waste more money then i have to on wires.

the graphics card is a gtx 760 twin frozr the monitor is pretty old its from 2005 idk the model number but http://www.cnet.com/products/dell-2005fpw/ i believe thats it

Are you kidding or legit. DVI connector or VGA from that era.

The cable should work. What connector does not fit (HDMI or DVI)?
