[SOLVED] How do i connect new power connectors to an old mobo

Hello, a few months ago I bought a Dell Optiplex 7010 and threw in an RX 580 to use as a temporary gaming PC. I’m putting it in a new case to sell it and I’ve done everything but there’s one thing. The cases power switch and reset switch has 2 pins which i’m guessing is the new standard with cases and motherboards but the old dell mobo has a 5 pin port on the motherboard which it obviously can’t connect to. Also there’s no ports for hd audio and usb since i’m the old one they were one continuous line. Is there’s any work around to this or do I have to buy a new motherboard. It boots through the psu switch and displays and error on screen that’s says power button cable failure and front i/o cable failure

Dell (like HP and others) is a proprietary design and without massive amounts of work cannot be transplanted into a standard case. Your best bet is to simply put everything back into the 7010 case and be done with it.

This is the main issue with the proprietary Dell/HP/Compaq systems.
Parts are not ATX.

My suggestion - Put it back together as it was, sell it as an office system.
Sell the GPU by itself.

Can’t I just buy a new mobo? I was planning on selling this for 400usd I’m not sure selling the work station and gpu separately will get me there. Besides the old case is ruined from me trying to fit a 580 in there

What are the rest of the specs?
CPU/RAM?
Is that Dell PSU going to work on an ATX motherboard, or do you need a new one of those as well?

i5 3470 with 8gb ddr3 1600mhz
i already replaced the psu with a 500w evga psu

7010 cost me 100, gpu 120, psu 50, case 50, that’s 320 + it’s already built for you. I think it’s a good price for a starter gaming PC

On an 8 year old platform.

Add new motherboard price. Selling for local pickup at $400 is just barely breaking even on your hardware.
Then the new owner has to do something about an OS license.

More power to you if you can get $400 for that.
