how do I convert movies on dish archive ext hard drive to watch on pc without the dvr?

Got a WD 2 TB ext hdd loaded w movies/tv shows recorded from DISHTV and stored in Archive. How can I retrieve them and play them on PC without the DISH DVR?

yeah, not gonna happen easily. As far as I know the files are encrypted so... good luck.

If Dish encrypts them, you've not got much chance, unless someone's cracked it.

If they aren't, get HandBrake and use that.
