Hello Everyone,

I sometimes have this issue that is the internet connection lag. My question is is there any way to diagnose what is going on? Sometimes my net is SO slow that no page loads, and then finally ends up with a "page cannot be displayed". But, It displays that my computer IS connected, but it's so slow it might as well not be.

I notice two kinds when I am playing online games, or in general(not just games) as follows:

1. I am talking in the general sense here. It feels like data is getting clogged up and then all rushes through at once. For example, In a game, The following actions are done, in order:
- Moved the character(Frame 1)
- telling the character to attack a monster
- character does 8 damage to monster(frame 2)
- character does 5 damage to monster(frame 3)
- character does 14 crit damage to monster(frame 4)
- monster dies.(Frame 5)

What ends happening is, nothing happens, nothing happens(character just stands there), and then all of a sudden all these things comes rushing in together.
Like
Frame 1, nothing
Frame 2, nothing
Frame 3, nothing
frame 4, nothing
frame 5, frame 1/2/3/4/5 all comes in at once.

2. the "delay" lag, when i click somewhere for the character to move, it does so after a delayed time, as well as all actions, or the delay is so long that it feels as nothing is receiving a response.
Another thing is If I am playing an online game, I see other players moving fine on my screen, but I can't seem to do anything(the "lag").

This is the same thing on my laptop, when I click on diagnose one of the following two things happen, three if my laptop is included:
1. It is extremely slow, but windows do not see a problem, such that "nothing is wrong with your network" result comes up.
2. Windows can't identify the problem.
3. Windows has determined that this computer is experiencing a connectivity problem( Uh....no really? Why do you think I am diagnosing? I want you to tell me what's wrong, and you confirmed for me something is wrong.)

Yes, I am on a wifi connection, as there is no ethernet connection nearby so I am using a wifi adaptor. I am currently out of town so I don't have a ethernet cable even if i wanted. One last thing...sometimes I notice that if someone is on the phone the internet becomes really bad.
- On my ethernet cable connection, sometimes I notice that always the same period of time at evening, around 8pm to about 12AM or so, my internet is always bad, is there a reason why?

I tried to ping www.google.com, I wish I could have saved the results, but Over 50 hops, Most of the are Connection Timed out and 3 of them are Destination host unreachable. Somestimes it also gives me could not find host www.google.com.

So, after all that mumbo jumbo, My question is that is this a general wifi thing? How do I fix such problems? Is it my problem(being on wifi), the router, surrounding uses of the internet, or the ISP? If someone experienced in such related issues would help it would be great.

Thank you.

Try to restart your router and check if it change something, if not, it maybe your ISP. Try to call them and ask them to check it. They should be able to give you an explanation of what is happening.

I have the same experience actually, my connection is just good every 12am-6am ..then the lag and drops starts and I know this is about my ISP subscription, I dont bother to call them, here in PH its a normal thing for us
