How do I disable my Antivirus to install printer?

I'm trying to instal a new printer but the software says I must disable any
antivirus programme first.
I've searched every page on AVG but nothing tells me how I turn it off!
Either Epson should tell me how I do this or AVG should tell you in their
Help files....neither do.
It's not rocket science to supply such simple info?
Can anyone tell me the simple way of turning it off?
Many thanks, Chrisssss.......... (North Wales, UK)

It's just a precaution but normally you DON'T need to disable the
Anti-Virus program. Try installing the printer driver, ignoring the
warning. Spend the time to find out how to disable the AV program only
if it ever fails (very unlikely).

Right click on the system tray icon and go to

Quit AVGAS Control Center

I agree that perhaps I don't need to disable my antivirus, BUT Epson's
instruction to do so are highlighted and in red, inferring that it is
critically important.

I don't use AVG but I would guess the following should work:-

Use Task Manager to see what processes are running. If you're not sure
which ones belong to AVG then you'll have to write down the names of all the
ones that look like possibles, then go search for them in Explorer (start in
the AVG and Windows folders) and see which were written by AVG. Then you
can stop these processes in Task Manager.

Right click on the icon and click on disable.
Otherwise, click on programs, click the the
program file, and whatever comes up will have an
option to disable

Oh they always do stuff like that. I always want to know what they're
trying to install that my AV wouldn't like. And I never turn it off.

If you really feel you must make sure you are completely disconnected
from your modem otherwise, in the time it takes to install the printer
you're likely to get infected.
