How do I do reinstall my OS on a SSD?

I’d like to reinstall my OS on a new SSD , but also securely remove everything from my current Mechanical HD. Start fresh. I want to avoid any current viruses that might be on my HD now . So when I start fresh from The new install I don’t want any old data to touch the new install. Also is the MX500 better then crucial mx300? There like the same price ?

You install the ssd unplug the other hdd when you do it. Then install windows

You can connect the other hdd after windows has been installed

You could just move to the Sk Hynix SL308 if your budget allows. Pertaining to your question regarding the storage(mechanical drive) you can simply format each drive during OS installation and finally select which drive you want to install in(SSD).

Windows 10. Will formatting securely remove everything like factory reset?

Also I’m using financial aid through my schools website so I only have select devices to choose from that’s why I asked if the Mx500 is better then MX300 because they’re like the same price.

The MX500 is the fastest SATA SSD drive besides the new Samsung 860 Pros and EVOs and the 850 Pros.

Also bummed about meltdown . My computer seems like it’s not running as fast. Now I want ryzen
