Okay, so, I just bought a second monitor today, same brand and same model, BenQ 24'' GW2470, and when I tried to plug the second monitor in from the HDMI port to the monitors HDMI it says no cable connected.. The only way for the screen to work is if the HDMI goes from the GPUs port to monitors port. Why can't I use the motherboards port?? I tried messing around on BIOS but I couldn't find any option to enable this and that. Everything was just grayed out and unavailable for me.
PLEASE HELP!! Should I simply buy an HDMI > DVI cable??

PS: am poor.

When a gpu is used the integrated graphic chip on the CPU is deactivated. You will need to go into the bios and see if there is a setting to force the igpu to stay active.
