Currently at GEN 2 according to GPU-Z and NVIDIA Control Panel . I notice a lot of people have this problem and the only solution seems to be a reg edit. (Never did reg edit.)

Just upgraded to win 10 pro and am still learning how to navigate it. Went into Bios and loaded optimized defaults as well as OC the CPU and XMP ,etc, etc

G1 Sniper 3 mobo

Win 10 pro 64 bit. Version 1909

XFX 850 watt Black edition (about 8-9 years old) Its an XFX branded Seasonic
Bios is original that it came with. But remember years ago that I had a GTX 680 that I was able to get to run in X16 Gen 3 . I just don't remember how I did it. (I had remembered having the same issue then, and that is how this came up) I just got the Hydro copper and have been bench-marking it as I always do after a upgrade and that is when I noticed the gen2.

Look at the ? in GPU-Z to the right side of the bus interface info and click on it. Start the render test. Do you see 3.0? What version of GPU-Z are you using? Some people were using 2 years old version where that wasn't showing properly.

This is really bugging me. I don't understand how this could happen.I had it working in gen3 6 years ago on a GTX 680. And doing a search for this online turns up a lot of results and people still have this happening.
