Hey, I have a HP Compaq 6005 Pro SFF.
People have suggested me to upgrade from my old AMD Athlon II X2 B22 CPU, but, the problem is, I'm not sure what CPUs are even compatible with my motherboard.
I don't want to get a new motherboard, unless there's no really other option.
I'd like to get something newer than a 10-year old CPU, but I'm not really sure what the choice is.
Anyone can help me out? Or is motherboard replacement really the only choice?
And, if there is a decent CPU, would the speed of the new CPU dramatically change the speed I'm having right now?

Solution
In regards to getting a new motherboard, unfortunately, there really is no other option. With something that old, your performance will suck if you upgrade to the best processor that board supports.

Even the best cpu that board can have is beaten by a fair bit by todays cheapest options.
