how do i factory reset a lt4010u gatway laptop?

I forgot my password and now I need to reset it but I don't know how.

If this isn't a bios password then you press the F11 key at startup and you should be presented with the Gateway System Recovery option. That will allow you to restore your computer to it's originally installed state.
