I thought this was a laptop, but I was wrong. I'd have to see the specs in order to determine what slots you have on your motherboard. If it's capable of PCI-E 1.0 (I doubt 2.0) I think you can still get cards for it, but if it uses AGP you may have to resort to eBay.

What makes you think it's a laptop. There are also inspiron 530S desktops i believe.
How much watt is the psu ?

The Inspiron 530S is a small form factor (slim) desktop machine. It comes with a 250w PSU. It can accept a low-profile PCIe GPU.

@colgeek: great info... my pc does great with everything except graphics... i was concerned about upgrading b/c i read of some people having a problem with the psu having enough juice thus burning up some parts

If you wanne give sound advice read the question right and don't just shout "6870" every time you see a question about a gpu.
Advicing a 6870 for a 250W psu without mentioning it needs 500w is, well, bad advice, to say it nicely.

i have to admit when you said 6870 you made me laugh, i thinka 6670 might be pushing it with your current psu.

I did a similar upgrade to a HD5570 card and consequently bought a better PSU.
