This statement raises several question:
1. Is your current OS activated? If not, why not?
2. How did this install arrive on your PC?
3. If it is already activated, why do you need a new 'key'?
4. Where are you considering purchasing this new key from?

Belarc Advisor can tell you what your current install is, and probably what the current license key is.
