So I have searched and searched and everyone gives the same response. "Check CCC" or "Check under your computers hardware", I've even go through most steps on AMD's site to find out, but i can't see to figure out which graphics card I have. Every thing I check on my computer just says "AMD Radeon R9 200 Series" but it doesn't state specifically which "200" it is. Is there any way I can find out the real answer to this?

Hi all,

AMD have a long round about way to get this info.

http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/HowtoidentifythemodelofanATIgraphicscard.aspx#DID

the graphics card Subsystem Vendor ID and Device ID may be located using the Windows® System Information tool.
To access the Windows® System Information tool:
Click Start and type System Information in the Search field.
Select System Information from the results
Expand Components and select Display
Note the PNP Device ID value on the right window pane
In the example shown below the PNP Device ID value is: PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9802&SUBSYS_21DF17AA&REV_00\...

NOTE: For the purpose of identifying the graphics card manufacturer and model, only the DEV and SUBSYS segment values will be...

That doesn't tell you which exact model you have. GPU-Z only tells you the line of graphics card which you have, and the OP already knows that information (AMD Radeon R9 200 Series).

It does not display the correct model all the time. I ran it on two of my systems before and only got the general series of the video card, not the exact model (7900 instead of 7950 for example). I think it depends on what the vendor has in the firmware of the card and in what location.

hmm i haven't use radeon for a long time. but GPU-Z always detect the exact model of my GPU. probably this have to do with all the rebrand? and i do heard people talking about cards like 280X being detected as 7970 by GPU-Z. but isn't that gpu z still detect and display the chip being use and the config of shader count etc? you can use this info as reference and compare the spec you find on AMD official website to determine which card you have.

Hmmmm no ? Sorry, i know it's been long, but dude, i never seen the model written on any of my R9 200 series. You can put you eyeballs in your pocket, i don't see where it will help him.

If it's not on the heatsink side, it will be on the other side, see the label in this pic? That's where model and part number would be.

Interestingly, my R9-280x has that info printed on the little sticker. So...

Nope, there's not sticker on mine that says it. GPU-Z shows the same thing as always, R9 200 Series and that's it. I guess I'll have to look at my purchase history..? I got it off eBay. It's from Gigabyte, has 3 fans, and says "Windforce" above where the fans are. I could take a picture and upload it to Imgur possibly. I think I remember reading it was equal to Nvidia's GeForce 760. I guess that could make mine the R9 270 possibly.. I'm a pain in the ass, I know.

Well i doesn't have the little stickers too so that's first.

If you really want to know wich one is it just put a screen shot of your gpu-z result here and i/we will find it, not that difficult, agter that it's up to you to recognize it

NOTE: Only the last four alphanumeric characters in the SUBSYS string segment are used to determine the Subsystem Vendor ID.
The highlighted segment in the value string indicates that the graphics card Device ID is 9802, and the Subsystem Vendor ID is 17AA.
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_9802&SUBSYS_21DF17AA&REV_00\...
Once the graphics card Subsystem Vendor ID has been found, match it to the list below of manufacturers to identify the manufacturer or origin of the graphics card.
Subsystem Vendor ID Manufacturer
1043 ASUSTeK
196D Club 3D
1092 Diamond Multimedia
18BC GeCube
1458 Gigabyte
17AF HIS
16F3 Jetway

1025 Acer
106B Apple
1028 Dell

Hope this helps there is more info in link with better layout. I was not able to get my card model but was able to get the manufacturer which was then able to auto detect if for me.

Thx guys and good luck

Solution
just get the bios information off GPU-z and cross reference it on the techpowerup site. They keep a database of VGA bios cross referenced by vendor etc... handy for those of us who come across weirdo cards from time to time.

Thanks gorgeous
