I was playing battlefield 1 on my dell s2716dg monitor when I noticed that in the video settings it showed that the display device I was using was a "Generic PnP monitor." Previously it was showing my display device as what it was, a dell s2716dg monitor. Then I had uninstalled my previous drivers and installed the nvidia driver for my new gtx 1070 and after that it showed in the bf1 video settings that my display device was a "generic PnP monitor." Then I checked the device manager to see what, if anything, I could do to fix this. I couldn't figure out how to fix it. I didn't notice it change anything with the gameplay that I could notice but it just bothers me so please help and thanks in advanced.

Almost forgot to mention that what I used to uninstall the drivers was DDU

Solution
displays are under Generic PnP monitor in witch that covered under microsofts universal driver built in to windows ..

now if your monitor has a driver for some features not covered under that down load and try to use them . amyway that's just how it is with a display. all mine are that way as well and has nothing to do with the cards drivers

don't tell you what you get from it ?? may try to install and windows will tell you all ready got it or better anyway ?
and still may say Generic PnP monitor when all said and done

ya , that's a g stink monitor so try that driver that NVidia part is built in the the monitor not the card so like I said ''now if your monitor has a driver for some features not covered under that down load and try to use them ''

I never used a g-sync monitor so ??? I will assume you do need that driver for it
