How do i fix the Cyclic Redundancy Check error on my External Back Up Hard Drive

Hi,
I have an External hard disk but it seem there is a Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy). My Files in this Ext. Hard Disk are mostly important work related matters. Its a 500GB HD.

Can you please assist me?

To avoid an "O crap", I would suggest contacting the vendor. They will be able to assist you the best since they developed it.

I hesitate giving advice in this situation b/c there is important data involved.

You need to initiate a data recovery operation. The first step is to try and take an image of your failing drive. Then attempt to recover your data from the image.
