How do I get a GTX 970 with a reference cooler or just a reference card?

As most of you know Nvidia came out with the 980 and 970 last night and the 980 is now being shipped with it's stock sexy cooler yet the 970 has a pathetic looking plastic piece of you know what slapped on it so that the vendors can save a ton of cash. So how do I get a Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 with a stock cooler or reference card in Canada? (Or at least tell me how to get one in the US) And also please do not throw the active cooling solution benchmarks out there I don't really care, I need a blower-style cooler because of my case and I'm in love with the reference card's look.

I love the titan cooler on my GTX780.
I am confused by only offering one dvi port on the new reference GTX980 cards.
I have two 2560 x 1600 monitors and I need dual link dvi to support both.
It looks like dp to dual link dvi does not work well or is expensive.

Yeah... you see, I want that Titan cooler too, but nobody wants to make it for a GTX 970, so I'm becoming pissed off since I NEED a new graphics card and I'm stuck with a 9800 GX2 because I sold my 750 Ti so that I'd meet the bank for this new silicon.

It isn't being manufactured unfortunately because the NVTTM cooler is more expensive than a custom cooler, you will just have to get a custom cooler. I think the acx 2.0 cards with the backplates look pretty sexy but if you need a blower cooler you have three options; Evga, PNY or Galax from what I have seen. Either that or get a 980 which i guess is not an option. The evga cooler does not look that bad. Are you sure you need a blower cooler because the 970 runs pretty cool. What case are you using?

By what i was able to discern, almost all blowers on GTX 970' are the same as those on the 760, that is from EVGA, Gainward, and PNY. All of them are noisy, and show bad cooling performance.
The reference blower by NVidia is much more silent, and its thermal performance is a tad better (perhaps not by a great margin, though, as on the GTX 980 the reviewers are not that happy with temps).
The GALAX seems to be a new one, but i'd rather not bet on anything better (i.e. the exhaust is even smaller because of the placement of the DVI-ports, and the chassis looks like cheapo plastics as well).
In short: Blowers su** (pun intended).
That's a pity, as with the GTX 970 at stock speed, a dead-silent blower should be possible - heck, ASUS and MSI cool it passively up and until 60° C... (i.e. Why not build a blower with an axial fan at a slight angle? Or two axial fans with a slight angle? How about some new thinking? Heck...)
At the moment. I'd pay a premium for the NVidia Reference Cooler on a GTX 970 - and so would many with SLI in mind, or a cramped PC.
Hello? Anyone listening? (EVGA?!?) There is a market for a good blower!!!

If you are really desperate you can get reference GTX 970's from digitalstormonline.com . They don't sell the parts but their computers can have reference GTX 970's on the Apollo model. So far that is the ONLY way I have found them. So if you are building a computer and you absolutely need a reference model you can just buy a pre-built computer from there. I don't know if this helped at all but here it is.

According to the site:

"Specification:-
- NVIDIA 970 Cooler
- GeForce GTX 970
- GPU: GeForce GTX 970 (GM204)...."

Is this legit? whao can we see 970 reference coolers coming our way?

The only reason I'm sceptical is that this is the only case I've seen where one exists (But there may be more to come), and on some of the photos it looks like it could have been photo shopped, because when you swap between the two face-on pics of the card, you can see the '7' looks a little different in the first picture. Maybe this is a custom job though, as there is a weird sticker on the fan in one of the pictures.

Would someone mind splurging £320 on this and report back? Take one for the team 'n' all 😛
I guess if it isn't legit you can always send it back for a refund. Effort though.
EDIT: Also note that it says pre-order for 7/11/14 (UK date). So maybe there'll be more to come on this topic in November. Maybe Nvidia is listening to us! 😀

I do not understand. haha. So this means that OcUk will produce their own reference 970 and it is not any other manufacturer like EVGA, MSI, and the like? haha sorry im not from UK

OH thanks! this helped me alot! it turns out that Manli is available in my country! thanks!

Now that their site is back up and running, I sent them an email asking about the card and they replied:
"The picture is for illustration purposes only. Depending on the make of card will determine the type of fan used."
So I wouldn't bet on that being a "reference" 970 cooler that they're shipping. 😉
