Unless your laptop has a PC Card slot (formerly called a PCMCIA slot) for a Firewire adapter, you can't connect a Firewire device to your laptop.

A quick look at the your laptop's specs tells me it doesn't have one, but you're better placed than me to check that.

Just my fear, I've looked all over. thanks. But what computer (HP, Apple) do you think might be the best alternative?
