How do I get a wired computer communicate to a wireless printer to print?

My laptop crashed so I am using a desktop computer. I just purchased a new wireless printer. The new printer will not print anything from the computer. It will print reports about itself but nothing else. I have tried everything short of calling HP.

Run the supplied setup CD & when prompted, connect printer to computer (USB cable) and to power supply and turn printer on.
Setup should then finalise the installation.

I am assuming that you have a wireless router. Is your PC connected to the same network as your wireless printer? This can be either by a wireless card or an ethernet cable. If they are both on the same network, then you should be able to detect and use the printer.
-Can your PC detect the printer?
-Have you installed the drivers for your specific printer on your PC?
