How do I get my computer to recognize a new storage drive

Hello,

I cannot get my computer to recognize a new USB fantom drive. How can I get it to assign it a drive letter?

Go to Disk Manager (Start -> right-click "Computer", select "Manage" -> Click the "Disk Management" item in the left pane).

Does your disk show up in the lower part of the right pane? If so, and if it doesn't show a drive letter, then you need to right-click the disk to create a volume and format it.
