How do I get my pcie x8 nic card to be recognized by VMware esxi 6,5??

I have a supermicro MBD-X8DTE-F-O mobo with a 4 port nic in one of the pcie slots. The bios recognizes it but says it has no IP address. Also VMware esxi doesn’t see it at all! How do I fix it???

If ESXI does not recognize it, check the ESXI compatibility guide. It will tell you whether your NIC should be recognized and if it will need a driver from your manufacturer. If your card is not listed in the compatibility guide, you can go to your manufacturers website and see if they happen to have a driver for ESXI you could load.
