How do I get patches and updates for games?

I have been having trouble loading Call of Duty: Ghosts lately and I wanna get the latest patch for it but how?

You just let Steam (or Origin ) do all that for you.

Depends on how you want to update your game. Some games (MMORPG like Eclipse War, MMOFPS like Mercenary OPS, etc) has a game launcher and it automatically patches the game for you when you run them. In case an issue popped up while updating or in the event that you can't auto patch it anymore, try and visit the game publishers page or the main site of your game and look for their "manual patch". This involves downloading all the update files and then unzipping/copying it all to your game's folder.
