I have an Antec A40 pro cooler but I dont know how to get it off, because i want to re apply my thermal paste. Do i have to push or pull the tab thing on the side?

If it's on AMD, be very careful with removal, do NOT just twist and gank it out, many times the cpu will come with it and you'll be facing bent pins.

I'd suggest running the cpu in bios for a few minutes first, to soften up the paste, and if it doesn't want to budge use some dental floss under an edge and cut the paste.
