I own a ps4 controller, she been doing nothing on my desk but collecting dust, how do I get used to a controller? What do I need to do first as a newcomer? I'm also having hard time to make it display ps4 buttons in game because dumb Windows 10 shows xbox buttons instead. I never owned any console or controller before.

Can you give me tips and tricks about how to use a controller first? Cannot both movement and aim at same time.

What are you trying to use it for. If you were always a PC gamer then most likely unless it's a racing game you will prefer keyboard and mouse. for FPS they are awful coming from Mouse and Keyboard.

The only real way to get used to a peripheral or controller is to use it consistently and for a long time. Anyone can do this, you just have to keep being exposed to it and muscle memory eventually takes over. This goes for movement and aiming at the same time. Practice makes perfect, there isn't really a magic way to circumvent this. Although I will say mouse and keyboard will always be best to use for fps and rts genre games.

As for the buttons go, you likely will not be able to change the button displays on the screen from Xbox to Playstation without some form of 3rd party software if it even exists. This is mainly because Microsoft owns both Windows and Xbox, has integrated Xbox services within Windows, and also would probably not include a playstation variant, so that they can attempt to sell more Xbox controller. The Playstation exclusive games Sony has been porting to PC via Steam and such might have Playstation buttons displayed instead, but I haven't messed with them on PC before. Steam fully supports Playstation controllers now, and even Switch joy-cons, so there may be some choices in there. I tend to just play the exclusives and third person shooters on console, and everything else on PC.

Find a program called DS4 Windows. This will make the OS think that the controller is an Xbox one. And yes, this is kind of necessary because most games that have controller support made since 2010 use an API called XInput, which expects a specific mapping of inputs from the controller. And Dual Shock controllers (or really anything other than Microsoft or PC based controllers) don't use this configuration.

As for games telling you which button to press, that's just an unfortunate consequence of the Xbox controller layout being the most widely used. However, some games on Steam can recognize Dual Shock controllers and will show the appropriate button overlay.
