How do I get Xanos to stop casting spells?

I've got Xanos the half-orc in the Shadows of Ur-whatsit campaign.
I've got him levelling up as a barbarian, and he's doing a good
job in melee and a great job providing my rogue with sneak attack
opportunities. The problem is, the moron insists on casting spells
in the middle of melee. He's getting his ass kicked through attacks
of opportunity, and his spells aren't helping nearly as much as
simple melee attacks would. There doesn't seem to be any option
in the changing his tactics dialogue to get him to concentrate on
melee attacks rather than spells. Anyone have any advice?

<whew> Finally found the elusive S.O.B. searching the web... had forgotten
where I originally got it. Anywayz, try this:

Tony K.'s Henchman Mod. Awesome hakpak, give it a shot. Will allow you
to adjust your henchman's spellcasting choices in combat, among MANY
other things. Extremely highly recommended.

That looks absolutely perfect. Thanks much!

I'm a great fan of this hakpak, but a word of warning. I recommend that
you DON'T install the item stacking mod. It makes certain plot items
stackable which the scripts in OC, SoU and HoTU expect to be
unstackable. End result: "using" one of them will "use" the whole
stack. *Very* frustrating if you don't have a recent save to go back
to.

Here are the items in question in ROT13 (spoiler warning):
BP: Arhevx'f fvyire arpxynprf sbe gur jrerjbyirf
FbH: pna'g erzrzore
UbGH: Zveebe funeqf

To be fair, the item stacking mod is not installed by default, and the
glitch /is/ documented in the readme, albeit not in terms that made the
adverse consequences sufficiently clear to this user the first time
around.

Just my 2 pence,
Richard.
