So I have been given an used non-working laptop, an old Sony Vaio (no assist button). VGN-NR385E or otherwise Model PCG-7112L
When it turns on, a VAIO logo shows only for a split second and then I get "Operating System not found". Whatever I press, the message just repeats itself.
I have looked all over the internet all I can find is different F keys to use after turning the laptop on.
I have trying pressing everything, from Esc, to F1 to F12. I have even tried the F2+F3 combination and the ALT+F4 combination. Literally nothing works, and it takes me to the OS message again.
How do I go into boot mode on the old 2008-esque Sony Vaio laptops with no assist buttons?? Why can't the Vaio line have one consistent key for boot loading??
I just want to install Lubuntu on this laptop and make it work.
What other options are there other than trying to go into BOOT and booting from my usb?
Thanks upfront.
