So i just got an anti static wristband and im preparing myself to build a PC, im wondering can i clip the alligator tooth onto my table's legs? theyre made out of metal and they look solid black, i dont think its paint, and i dont feel any paint. Ill deal with the motherboard, cpu, ram first and then ill take out the case out of its' box after. So can i clip the alligator clip onto my table's metal leg?

Solution
You could. Basically, you are looking for a mass of metal to discharge to. Or better yet, a grounded mass of metal.
Suggestion: if you need more mobility while using the wrist strap, strap it to your bare ankle and clip to the grounded surface. It will give you more mobility with your hands.
Btw, unless you are in a dry high static area, you probably don't need the wrist strap. I have been building PCs for years and never used one. Jus touch something grounded occasionally if you have been walking around on a carpeted surface.
