How do I increase voltage toward ddr2 sticks on the DS3

My system was restarting itself while I play games and a few have told me that my memory sticks could be the cause. I have 4x1GB sticks of ddr2-675 (1.9v). I previouslt had 1GB of ddr2-533 (1.8v). Was I suppose to change the voltage to 1.9v? In my bios screen it shows 1.8v.

Am I correct in going to the bios screen, selecting DIMM OverVoltage COntrol and changing normal to +0.1v to equal 1.9v?

Should I update my DS3 also? I havent since Ive had it (August 06).

Thanx

yep. thats right.

CTRL+F1 to bring down the advanced options.

there got a bunch of additional tweaks to apply.

+0.1 mean additional 0.1v to default the voltage.

eg: DIMM default is 1.8v. +0.1 makes it 1.9v.

so u got it right there..

ok. thanx. I'll see if this works.....BTW. Am I waisting money if I get the E6700 (after the supposedly price drop soon). Ive never overclocked and I heard the E6300 and the DS3 are easy to overclock.

I wouldn't get the e6700. The e6600 is only $308. The e6700 is two hundred dollars more. Even with the stock cooler you could simply raise the FSB from 266 to 300. Then your e6600 will be a bit faster than the e6700! For $200 less!! Your temps will only rise by 3C idle at most. In other words, Two hundred dollars isn't worth the extra 260 MHz. Get the e6600 and save your money. (This is still true after price drops)
