Hello,
How do I install a D-Link Wireless router, DIR 655 to the Verizon Fios internet. I have tried different ways but cant get it to work.

I worked with D_Link's Tech Support for about an hour trying to get it to work, including changing the LAN IP. Their suggestion was to contact Verizon and request assistance from them. I tried that but all I get is directed to their Quickfix site. I couldn't find any help there either. It was also suggested that I contact their Premuim Support, but they are overloaded with calls...I imagine "Premium" means that they will help, for a fee???

Thank you Emerald.

Frustated...

I can connect to the Internet the normal way, i.e. Cat5 cable from wall to Modem and computer connected to any of the four ports in the back of the DLink 604 (non wireless) modem.

I have also tried conecting the DIR-655 wireless modem directly from the wall to the Internet port (grey) and the computer to the #1 Port. I've tried all four ports and I can't get connected...

Hi Emerald:
Iam almost at the point of giving up on this wireless router. Verizon isn't much help unless you are willing to pay for their "Premium Support" and Dell, where I purchased the router, will help with the set-up for about $130...A lot more than what the router cost. Best Buy has the "Geek Squad" They will set it up for $129.

I bought this router because one of its features advertized was the ease of installation. easy as 1-2-3...It didn't live up to its promise.

I am going to give D-Link one more chance to help me with the set-up, after all, if anybody knows how to set it up it should be the manufacturer.

I had another Customer Support session with Dlink and we got to the point where the wireless router seems to be working OK by all indications (lights) except that my desktop computer, connected to port #1 (or any port) of the router will not make the connection to the internet. Same thing with the laptop computer, it is also unable to connect to the internet even though it is receiving the signal from the wireless router. I am very disappointed in the D-link's support, first they told me that the problem was my Internet provider, then that my Antivirus program was blocking it. I don't believe that's the case because I have different anti-virus programs for each computer.

Anyway, I am returning the router to Dell and will try something else that is not so hard to set up.

Thanks for yor your help.
