Hi guys, currently having an absolute nightmare installing this m.2 SSD. So I do have a decent knowledge of PCs as I have built multiple in the past. However I've never used an m.2. Basically I've taken my m.2 out of my laptop as it broke and I wanted to hopefully use in my pc.

So I've went into my pc and had a look at the motherboard and found the m.2 slot. I'm looking at it and there seems to be 3 holes (Pic 1). I'm getting confused because whenever I look up installation videos online, they all seem to have some kind of stand off already installed. I've tried screwing the screws into the holes but they don't fit. This is where I thought, "right, I guess I'm going to have to install a standoff into case, behind the mdb". So I've took it out and realised that there is no hole to screw in (pic 2), another standoff in the case.

I would appreciate any kind of help into what I'm doing wrong and what I cam do to solve it, thank you in advance :)

BTW my motherboard is an Asus prime B360M-K.

Your board appears to be missing the mounting pieces, for the drive. Looking it up, it looks like your board came with one of these, for mounting the SSD. If you have lost it, you will need to purchase a new anchor.

Thank you!! I do have a small pc screw kit and I have found an m.2 stand off but it's too small to screw in the hole. Is that what the anchor is for? To put the standoff in the hole?
