How do I install Linux mint to my older Imac and remove the mac os

Hi im not used to macs and I need to install linux mint to it and remove the old mac os on the Imac.

Well that is not going to happen. The only thing you can do is install windows using Macs bootcamp utility.

No I know you can install Different linux distros to macs im just wondering if you can delete mac osx after Linux in on it

It's for a Mac Mini, but the principle is the same for any Mac. Having said that I would strongly recommend that you stick with a dual boot rather than removing OS X completely.
