I have the Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 mobo with the Zalman z11 plus case. I've been trying for almost 2 hours to install it but the standoffs doesn't match up with the holes on the motherboard. I installed the I/O aswell but i don't think the ports at the back is in all the way, but it won't let me push it in any further. the standoffs are kinda close to the holes but i can't push push it in anymore. Please help 🙁

Solution
My motherboard wasn't aligned properly on my first build because i bent the I/O shield's pins the wrong way. It took a long time for me to figure this out but once I did it was easy. Make sure you DIDN'T bend those pins backwards.
Don't get frustrated. My first PC build took me 10 hours (there were tears) due to issues like standoffs not fitting properly and trouble installing Windows 7. My second build took me just over an hour.

Anyway, I'm a little confused by what you mean. Is your problem that the standoffs don't physically fit into the case, or is it that there are more holes in the case than there are in your motherboard? Or is your problem both?

As juanjostorreshernndez said, make sure you actually have the standoffs in the right holes in the case according to the ATX standard. Try taking a few pictures and then uploading them to imgur or something if you're sure they're in the right holes.

That's exactly what i did too 😛 but it's installed now. My I/O shield wasn't in properly, took me like 2 hours to realise it lol...

But i do have another problem. I have a XFX 550w PSU and they gave me a european wall plug and i'm from the UK, i bought a wall adapter but my system doesn't seem to be powering. Is there anything i can do? The light on my mobo seems to be on but nothing else is activating :/

No, the light goes on after i plug in the psu. And the front panel connectors are right, i put it in atleast 10 times. Read it carefully on the instuctions too

Try these steps

1) remove all front panel headers, then use a small flat screwdriver to short the power switch headers. If is still does not power on.......
2) make sure the 24pin plug is all the way home and that you have plugged in the 4/8 pin CPU power plug as well. If this is all in order....
3) check your ram in installed correctly.......
4) has the CPU been installed correctly?
5) remove psu from PC and short the connectors on it to see if it powers up in isolation to the PC. You can find videos on youtube on how to do this. If the psu works then you motherboard may be doa.
