how do i install my ps3 controller to pc

i am starting to play pc games but hate to admit it i suck playing games with mouse and keyboard and i die 😛. is there any way i can connect my ps3 controller to pc and play games?

Additional notes: i tried to reset my ps3 controller by pressing the reset button but ive been holding it and pressing it many times but when i press the ps button it seems to still turn on the ps3. Any help?
