How do i install windows 7 from a disk to a hard drive using a usb to sata connector ? Im using another laptop to do so that i

Trying to install win 7 on a new hard drive that has no operating system to boot up to,so i bought a connector and a win 7 disk and tried using virtual clone drive to move 7 from the disk to the drive using a usb to sata 3 adapter

You cannot install Windows onto any sort of USB connected disk, it just won't work.

If you have Windows 8 or 10 (you are in the Win 8 forum after all), then you should just go to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 for 10) and make a USB installer.
