How do I install windows 8.1 on a computer?

So, I am almost done building a computer and I do not know where to even start with the OS. I see there is OEM versions, upgrades, and just a normal one (I think?). Should I use a usb or CD? I have no idea how to do this on a new computer so any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

your win 8.1 is on a cd or dvd the it install the same way you do with any other os ,for a upgrade you must have the previous os install on the ssd or hhd first then upgrade .
