Having trouble installing Windows to my new HDD with usb, I downloaded the iso and transferred the files to my usb. I made sure it was clean before putting the iso on it, I plugged it into my computer and went to my bios and made my usb boot priority and cleared the other boot options but it wasn't able to detect any operating system. Would appreciate any ideas or help that I can get. I'd also be fine with a Windows 10 solution if possible as well

Solution
transferred the files? The media creation tool installs the iso to the USB itself. If you manually moved the iso files to the USB you did it wrong.

you need to make the flash drive bootable first:
try this:
1-Start > CMD
2-diskpart
3-list disk
4-select the flash drive - select disk #
5-type clean
6-type create partition primary
7-type select partition 1
8-type active
9-type format fs=ntfs quick
and wait until the format complete.
then copy the image of the windows into the flash and try again
or you can use this software:

As already mentioned you have to make it bootable with a program like rufus.
Also you may have to make sure the usb stick is in a usb 2.0 slot as 3.0 doesn't seem to work well with the win7 OS. You may have to disable 3.0 in the bios in order for it to work if you dont have any 2.0 slots.
