Looking for a replacement tv. Current tv is 55" but it was damaged in a lightning strike. I am trying to figure out what to replace it with. We have our home theater in the basement, but this is the upstairs TV. No speakers with it, and in a room with lots of natural light. Thinking of going to 65". I've never had anything OLED before and trying figure out if I should be spending the money to move from led to OLED. No console to go with it.

Thanks.

I guess let me reframe. What is the benefit of OLED over led? I think darker darks?
Color contrast and black blacks. Also, the instant pixel response leads to almost no ghosting.

LED will get brighter and appear more vibrant in a brightly lit room. You want to get a mini-led in order to get near the contrast levels of an oled. This increases the price.

Once you go OLED, it's near impossible to go back.

It also depends on the content you're watching as well as the room lighting. If you're watching a lot of movies or shows in the letterboxed or IMAX format then you would benefit from the blacker surrounding background. If you're watching mostly full screen content then you wouldn't notice the blacker blacks as much especially in a well lit room. OLEDs are best when watched in complete darkness where you see nothing but the picture image.
